This Workplace Safety and Health for Food and Beverage Operations (Chinese) course will impart knowledge to learners on the importance of adhering to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures and complying with them. This will help reduce the cases of workplace accidents in the food and beverage industry.
This Food and Beverage Operations Workplace Safety and Health course will teach learners the importance of following and adhering to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures. This will help reduce workplace injuries in the food and beverage industry.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- LO1. Explain the importance of adhering to WSH policies and procedures
- LO2. Describe their role and responsibilities in maintaining and improving workplace safety
- LO3. Interpret and comply with common safety signs, instructions, and hazard symbols
- LO4. Identify the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety device required for the safe operations of different tools and equipment in the workplace
- LO5. Support compliance inspections within the work area to identify non-compliances, unsafe work conditions, and unsafe practices
- LO6. Explain the risks and control measures for the identified issues to the relevant stakeholders
This course will help employees in the food and beverage industry to increase awareness of workplace safety and health, assist in detecting any issues or non-compliance, and share improvement/corrective actions. In the process of developing these skills, learners will also learn to comply with workplace safety procedures and processes in the restaurant, kitchen or food/beverage stand where they work.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- At least 18 years old
- Have minimum primary school education
- Have a basic knowledge of the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements
- Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with Numeracy skills at a minimum proficiency level of the Employability
- Skills Workforce Skills Qualification ie, Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4
- Participants who do not meet the above requirements will be required to go through a short interview to verify their language and cognitive ability.
